StrategyAll decisions and phases of the project are conducted in a participatory manner by and with the producer dialogue themselves. The project management receives advice by an experts committee that supervises the project management staff in regular steering meetings. The project implements adaptation strategies in various rounds with a selection of producer groups. Each round consists of a phase of risk and opportunity assessments, implementation, impact monitoring and evaluation. Throughout the whole process information and experiences are continuously communicated with other producer groups and all stakeholders of the project in order to achieve transparency and to multiplicate lessons learned. ![]() Information gatheringThe first phase entails the collection and systematization of information that is relevant to the project. Result: Report on impacts of climate change on the coffee and tea sector in the countries in which we operate. The report on climate change impacts includes:

Implementation Adaptation StrategiesProducers put identified adaptation strategies into practise. They serve as exemplary measures for other producer groups. Adaptation strategies include short term measures, such as an improved irrigation system, but also long term measures such as building up capacities for long term financial and technical support. Impact Monitoring and EvaluationThe success of multiplying the experience of the first participating producer groups depends largely on their success. Continuous monitoring of the impact of adaptation strategies as well as a critical evaluation of lessons learned is therefore essential. Cross LearningKnowledge and experience of the first participating producer groups are passed on to other smallholders. Their success in adapting their production to changing climatic conditions is thereby multiplied. |
